Ukraine has announced the commencement of mass production for an innovative domestically developed defensive UAV to strengthen its air defences. The first three manufacturers have begun manufacturing, with an additional eleven preparing to establish production lines, Ukrainian military officials stated this past Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Combat Situations

These UAVs will be based on a domestically developed system known as “Octopus” designed to intercept Shahed drones. This technology underwent testing in actual battle and demonstrated effective “during nighttime, under jamming and flying low,” the ministry stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established an ambitious goal of producing up to 1,000 defensive drones daily.

Latest Attack on Kyiv Characterized as Calculated
