Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the global break, however can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, readers and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have got lots of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home form, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
