Netflix Casts Spot-On Actor for Bentham in the Hit Series Third Season

The Secret Organization is poised to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a adored, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.

The platform declared this week that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bon Clay. The role can use their power to morph into an exact copy of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The actor, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that role reimagined as non-binary, rather than as a drag queen, in the live-action show, differing from the original manga and animated series.

Escola is joined by multiple recently announced actors set to bring the organization to life, featuring leader Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, an emerging star as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the cast as the ruler of the desert kingdom.

Even though this character is a important part of the organization, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. With season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this marks a notable change in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal more adjustments to the narrative framework.

The actor’s combination of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the role. Besides their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.

The platform’s adapted One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
