Iran Reports Attack on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is unclear and the United States has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have intercepted missiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
It said missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
