Bills' Disappointing Performance Gives New England Path to Top Spot - Highlights of NFL Week 10

Week 10 again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many fans into the NFL
This outcome could have created opportunities for the New England Patriots to creep back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their eight and two rivals
Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation in week 11, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award
Analysis - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Bills had won seven in a row against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the start as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third period and initial scoring in the fourth - admittedly Miami had 10 days to prepare but it was nonetheless a significant failure laid by one of the NFL's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two scores but running back De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 total yards and two scores
Bottling up the NFL's top rushing attack was also key, with Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and just over half their 161.5-yard average
Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the pair from Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to a touchdown just later
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen attempting to do too much to rescue his squad from the situation - not the calm, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this year
Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the jury's out on whether this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are quietly moving into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East
In Focus - Patriots Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three different eight and two squads in the NFL, all AFC teams, but could they be the top team?
One could find flaws in New England, the Broncos and Indianapolis really for feasting on the lesser sides, with just five of their combined 24 wins coming against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Indianapolis defeating the Broncos
Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Buffalo seems like a declaration
Their pair of losses occurred in new head coach Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven straight victories, just like the Broncos, since then - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to prepare was significant
Drake Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he definitely earns point for bravery after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa but hanging in there to guide his team to victory
The defense is reliable and rookie rusher TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different ball carrier to exceed 22mph this year on his first score
While you can argue who 'the top team' is statistically, the Pats should be favourites to end with the best record due to their schedule - which features just one game against a winning team, although a huge one against Buffalo
Traveling to Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for first place but encounter the same problem) and also the Packers on the schedule
The Indianapolis also play the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jaguars to face. There is a considerable distance to travel but the opportunity is open for a shock top seed in the AFC
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Next Week Clash
Two teams with solid claims to be better than all of the three different eight and two sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who both scored 40 burgers to go to seven and two ahead of the upcoming major game between the two in LA
They've both secured four victories in a row, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with top receivers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a contest
Both could easily be undefeated as too - particularly the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play deflected and returned by the Philadelphia for a score
Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the last kick of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they are genuinely two of the best sides in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date
Player of the Week - Taylor
Taylor could be on for a record season after his incredible display in Berlin - rushing for 244 yards, registering three touchdowns and adding another 42 {receiving yards
