In a unexpected crossover event that breaks conventional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Adventure Revealed

According to the authorized release, "A strange encounter pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where whispers of prohibited rituals and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden group.

The mission concentrates on "peculiar trials and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Settings and Changes

The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Bonus Content

Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an exclusive katana in addition to multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-based attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps mount

This update also brings the game's newest complimentary story addition, titled "The Enigma."
